- Monday I got my FIRST real stomach infection!! I must have beat all of Peru's missionaries, maybe even all of South America's because I almost went 9 months without one!!!
-I kept that fun stomach infection for a few days-- which means no leaving the house or even the bed. haha :)
-Wednesday we drove to La Merced for my comp's Doctor appointment, we returned a few hours later only to get a call that night that she was going to Lima and we needed to travel BACK to La merced!! (also side note: our driver pulled over to this little wood shack and they came out with a bucket of gas and poured it in until they thought it was about what he paid for. I love Peru. :)
- So I was in La merced for 3 days in a quad-panionship! Super fun! And one of them was Hermana Abbott from my trio! hah. So everyday I just rotated my companion. It was actually super fun teaching with different people and styles. People have started telling me my spanish is getting so good, which isn't really true, but REALLY helps you feel confident :)
- We taught a lesson to a 16 yr. old. She had never heard of the church or anything about it. When we taught her about the Book of Mormon, you should have seen the LIGHT in her eyes. She said she is so happy and excited and that she never thought a book like that existed! I wanted to jump up and down and laugh and cry and tell her that its true, all of it. Now that sounds like a strange response, but if you have ever had the chance to see someone's excitement over this book, you'd agree. And I thought about this for a while. WHAT A BLESSING we have to have such a book. It's AMAZING. Life changing. Problem solving. Faith building. And WE HAVE IT. And we have the ability to give it to others. To let others have the light, life and love of this Gospel.
- Mark 9:23-24: if thou canst believe ALL things are possible.... Lord, I believe. Help thou my unbelief. Scripture of the week! (or year) I love what this entails. I will probably never have perfect faith in this life, but I love that if we have faith ENOUGH, Heavenly Father can help our doubt. Everyone should go read this and study it. :)
- So I had a really cool story about a lesson, but like always, I have no more time... but something I thought about a lot after that lesson was just how I without a SINGLE doubt, KNOW this church is true. Every part of it. And I love it. And now, especially as a missionary (and I will continue to do so for my whole life) I am trying to live it. Then that quote from conference popped into my head. I love this church :)
Okay, I am out of time. I know my emails stink these days, the internet is just SO SLOW out here in the JUNGLE. ;)
