8-18-14 Lovely. :)

YAHOOO!!!!

Isabel is baptized!!! Hopefully I can send the pics! It was a beautiful day, filled with joy. My favorite part: a family in the ward let us borrow this adorable white dress for her. When she came out of the bathroom, she was just twirling and beaming and dancing. Everyone was telling her how cute she looked and it was just one of the happiest moments. The whole baptism went very smoothly (as far as Peruvian smooth goes... hehe) only, the water is SO green. Porbracita. But it was a wonderful evening, followed by an activity for the Relief Society. My comp and I had to give a 20 minute lesson on companionships. We had them play a "get to know you" game. I have never, in my entire mission (sadly) seen women converse like they did!! We were SO happy- I almost wanted to cry. Almost.

Some inspiring Quotes for the week:
"We simply cannot call ourselves Christians and continue to judge one another -or ourselves- so harshly."
"There is no age barrier when it comes to Christlike service."
"I invite you to not only love each other MORE, but love each other BETTER."
I love quotes, y'all know that. I invite you all to think about these and apply them.... and also read or re-read General Conference. It's seriously the BEST and inspired straight from God. :)

Also, EVERYONE NEEDS to go find and watch these two Mormon Messages "Un amor Duradero" (no sé en ingles...) and "because of him" AMAZING. Do it. I dare you.

Scriptures for the week:
 Moroni 9:6 -- Labor hard...
Alma 26:27-- Don't give up...

So our district here is 11 missionaries. And only ONE of them is a latino. hahaha. We are all gringos. Speaking Spanish is a leetle hard to say the least... ha.

RACHELL!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTA!!!! Shoutout to the BEST sister-in-law EVER. I hope your day was fantastic and beautiful. I am sending you a letter, so you'll get it in like.... 3 months. :)

Well. This week was a lot better for us as an area and companionship. Working hard has been hard with my comps illness, but we DID have some awesome breakthroughs!!! We found a lady whom the elders a while ago had been teaching. She is READY. She accepted a date, came to church and will be getting baptized very shortly :)

ALSO! We were teaching our cute little 11 year old who has been unable to receive permission for many months. While we were sitting there talking to her, her dad walks out (smiling!) and says " donde esta el papel?" then picks it up, signs it, and walks away.... WHAT!?!?! It was such a miracle! And then two days later, her mom also said she could be baptized, and to pick a day where she could come. :) We are SO feliz, to say the least. This little girl's faith is making miracles happen.

I know my letters aren't very good, just try using jungle internet connection. ;)
Maybe that's just an excuse, but I really love you all and hope that everything is going GREAT. And, that your internet works better than mine.

Love always, Hermana Whitlock

Your Faith can make MIRACLES Happen.
